Welcome to the 2014 Texas Firefighter Summer Games Basketball event. Here are a few items to help your team be prepared for the tournament. Mandatory Coaches meeting 0800 on the 22nd of July. Must have received release agreement and roster.

Bring your own game ball.
Have Firefighter ID for all players.
Wear jerseys with numbers (preferably front and back).
No profanity or fighting violators will be removed from the tournament.
I understand that during competition things can become heated. However, at NO TIME will the officials be argued with, chastised, abused or intimidated. We want competitive play but not at the expense of the officials.
As coordinator, I reserve the right to deny entry to any player and/or team not adhering to the sportsmanship of the Summer Games.
You can play with 4 players but it will be a forfeit with only 3 players. Should there be any extenuating circumstances, then this can be waived by complete agreement of the two coaches involved.
All players must wear non-marking rubber-soled athletic shoes.
This 5 on 5 tournament will be played using NCAA Rules. Each team will play a minimum of 3 games. Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place.
20 minute halves, running clock until the final two (2) minutes
Halftime - Five (5) minutes
Timeouts (per game) - Two (2) full and Two (2) 30 second
Overtime - Three (3) minute running clock until last minute and one (1) full timeout
Fouls: a) Five (5) per player b) Seven (7) team fouls result in shooting 1 + 1 free throws. c) Ten (10) team fouls result in shooting 2 free throws d) Two (2) technical fouls on same player or coach is an automatic ejection.
All other rule enforcement will come from NCAA Rules.
All teams get to play 3 games first day, pool play first day.
Teams that win all 3 first day games get a buy on 2nd day In some cases, team with most points get buy on second day when number of games won on first day is a tie No teams will play back to back games on first day 2nd day bracket determined by number of games won on first day (bracket play)
Cities may combine to make a team EXCEPT for Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. Team rosters shall be limited to eleven (11) members, including coach/player coach.
All players must be career Texas State Firefighters (TCFP Certification will be verified).
